Default How about a farming mode?

I was just thinking, how come mobs never respawn in an area unless you are in a challenge mission? Since challenge missions have the code, it is already in the game so why not add it to other areas?

I was thinking that there be a little button next to NM/HM that would engage mobs in an area to respawn a short time after death. That way you can keep farming them for loot, collector drops, title points, and XP without having to run back to town if you need to. There would only be three differences I can think of that should be in place. The first is that since this is geared towards farmers, the drops start out pretty bad but keep building up over time you are in the zone. For things like greens and other specials, the chance for something good to drop would start out low and then culmulate until an item drops, where the chance resets. The second change would be 1 party wipe sends you back to town. There needs to be some sort of risk involved. Perhaps the longer you spend farming in a zone, the faster things respawn (to a degree) to increase the chances of a wipe. Finally for NM, I think mobs in lower level areas should be bumped up to level 20-24 so they can have max items drop, but they wouldn't get all the bonuses that mobs get in HM.

Finally we could add a farmer track for NM and hard mode... in every area where you manage to kill 1,000 mobs, you would have officially farmed it. Once you "farm" all the non-mission areas in a campaign, you get the title.

PS. Farming mode should be disabled for missions because of the possible complications.

1,000? Some of us have lives, mate.

I make a fine amount of money, almost there to FoW armor, simply by just doing normal things like doing dungeons with friends, and dinking around in PvE. A "Farming Mode" would just encourage "Invinci" builds to get macroed, and on goes with infinite money. They can macro a farm over night, wake up with a full inventory and 50k hard cash from drops.

It's a decent idea, glad to know you're putting thought into things, but this would make money making easy again, when it's easy as it is.

Its a worthless idea because you could leave some heroes there capable of farming the area, and go afk. Thats basicly the same as botting.

And this way you could program your computer to keep casting Weapon of Remedy, VW, and VwK, or something to the effect, something that requires no thought. You'd leave your computer on a few days and return to a heap of 5g piles. Sweet! You'd be rich.

No. Not signed.

Just take away loot scaling and the hidden anti-farm code. They only help bots.

I can kill a mob faster than a minute, so I hope you say this to every "Drunkard".

As for the main point of the thread, I say no, it'd make everyone rich, and farming a complete joke.

Why not just add button in the Menu that says: Release farmbot?

Nope, nope. Monsters that do not drop loot in challenges are like that for a reason.

I think you've hit something there

Also why not have bots buyable in the in-game store? It can come in the same update as this

Actually, Anet is against farming, so I'm sure they wont include that.

No, it's not.

Mobs don't respawn, don't have guaranteed drops and loot scales for the very reason of preventing the farming.

The proposal is basically a way to boost botting by absurd amount, and make sure they get guaranteed rewards.

I agree, this is probably the worst idea since using /signed to say you agree with the topic at hand.

'Let's make it easier for any monkey with moderate dexterity in their fingers to make a bloody fortune in the game and kife things up to the max.'

Bollocks, I say.

Your idea + bots = stupid, stupidly, stupidly rich players!

We dont need more ways to make gold easily. Its already stupidly easy to make enough gold to live on. If you want rare drops or weapons or more gold then you need, then just earn it the same way everyone else does.

really you want a ton of money with less effort then now, the most you really need in pve is around 30k ( max armour, decent wep, skills) thats it money wise. so if youwant a very rare skin your gonna have to farm the curretn way

This is a very bad idea, no way in hell Anet wants to encourage killing the same mobs over and over just for the purpose of getting "phat lewtz". They want you to actually play the game, not RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it.

Like someone said, you could just get 3 heroes and 4 henchies that are capable of killing a mob, sit there, and go afk, and gg, you got your lewtz.

screw it i will say I like this idea even if it is bad. Mostly cause I m lazy and hate having to go back into town over and over when i farm. Why? Because I said so. No reason other than that. Its not a great idea but for the lazy bastards like me its nice. as far as bots and such....like they dont already farm like crazy. at least we wont have to see them running back and forth from town all day anymore. Like a roach motel once they go in they never leave.

It woudln't make everyone rich because money would become even more worthless. When everyone can make 100K in a few minutes, then 100K becomes the new penny. Meaning rare items and weapons will just cost 100,000K instead of 100K.
